"Borrowing" People

So here is a new thing for this blog, and maybe I can turn it into a series, who knows. As I've said many times, I feel strongly that getting your Scrum Master certificate is less an achievement in itself than an announcement that you have begun your apprenticeship. Now that I've been doing the job for a year, while I obviously have a lifetime of learning ahead, I can no longer consider myself a raw newbie. This seems like a good time, then, to start being more conscious about what I've learned so far. This is a new blog I'm starting in order to keep track of my thoughts about Agile practices and philosophy, and the Scrum Master work I'm doing at my own place of employment. Big Step!

Continuing the work I started with my skills inventory a few weeks ago, last weekend I ordered a copy of Training from the Back of the Room.  Today I sent out invites for the first of what I hope will be a series of brown bag sessions on agile topics here at my company. The most popular topic was continual improvement, so that's going to be the focus of the first one. There's a real challenge in crystallizing this topic down to 45 minutes and making it interactive, but I'm enjoying the hell out of planning it, and looking forward to seeing what can be made better the next time we do it.
